Shopify enforces a few platform-wide limits. Commercer's master catalog is built around them so none of them are dead-ends.

AI credits, explained
One credit balance for everything AI touches.
Editing fields manually never uses credits. Credits are spent when AI does the work: generating a localized title, rewriting a description, mapping a feed field, auto-translating content, or running Catalog Intelligence scans. Storage above your plan limit is also billed in credits, so you only ever manage one balance.
