How we handle Shopify platform limits
Shopify enforces a few platform-wide limits. Commercer's canonical-catalog model means none of them are dead-ends — they're things our deploy queue, AI Lint, and Catalog Intelligence are built around.

One credit balance for everything AI touches.
Editing fields manually never uses credits. Credits are spent when AI does the work — generating a localized title, rewriting a description, mapping a feed field, auto-translating content, or running Catalog Intelligence scans. Storage above your plan's limit is also billed in credits (30 credits per GB per month), so you only ever manage one balance. Credit overage is $1.90 per 1,000 credits, with a hard cap you control.
